MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION
LONG BEACH LEGAL PROFESSIONALS ASSOCIATION was founded in 1929 by Eula Mae Jett. Long Beach is the founding chapter of Legal Secretaries, Inc. (LSI) and is one of the 49 local associations. amwccls@sbcglobal.net. Membership dues are $45 per year and include membership in Legal Secretaries, Incorporated. The new member fee is $50 and includes a $5 initiation fee.
Membership is available to anyone engaged in work of a legal nature. Student membership is available for those currently seeking a career in the legal field. Student membership does not include membership in Legal Secretaries Incorporated and is not available to those students actively employed in the legal field.
To promote and improve the quality of our profession through educational programs, personal benefits, networking and the promotion of professionalism; and to promote harmony and cooperation between law offices, the courts, and the public.

Discounts on Legal Specialization Sections. LSI offers the following Legal Specialization Sections at a discount to all members: Transactional, Criminal Law, Family Law, Law Office Administration, Civil Litigation, and Probate/Estate Planning. Each section includes quarterly newsletters, a statewide membership roster for the section, periodic region seminars and workshops at LSI’s quarterly conferences.
Long Beach Legal Professionals Association supports the California Certified Legal Secretary (CCLS®) certification program. A study course is available for those who wish to study for the one day exam which is given twice a year. The CCLS exam tests California legal procedure, terminology, ethics, administrative and performance skills.
